Judith's Story
Uhm....do I get the "most changed" award yet?
I spent a lot of years trying to figure myself out. After working at (3) engineering companies (1983-1995), I went into business for myself. I remain self-employed as an engineer (electrical power quality, powerlines.com), and also do some freelance computer / graphics work.
The gender stuff has always been with me and perhaps fueled some of that edgy, angry wit that some of you might recall. I seem more even tempered and measured these days. Go figure.
I spent most of the 90's figuring myself out and the 00's dealing with the mechanics of gender transition. It has not been easy but compared to some of the stories you might see on television or read about, it has been a fairly gentle journey; I have been very fortunate.

balloonist and play music (guitar and bass, kirtan and folk rock). I'm addicted to yoga - I did teacher training in 2008, and I now teach a few classes per week at West Hartford Yoga.
I do a lot of local arts stuff - off the beaten path films, theater, music. I'm also gotten a bit of visibility as a local blogger - scenicroot.blogspot.com
I still get up to MA periodically to visit my family, most of whom are still in Framingham. My sister is married with 3 kids (I'll let her write her own bio!), mom is still doting on her teenage grandkids, and my brothers are still single.
Regarding the name: Jude was my middle name; it felt right to remain Jude, and Saint Jude *is* the patron saint of hopeless cases....right?
I'm pretty findable on Facebook: Judith Russell or Google (Jude and Yoga usually gets me pretty quickly). Say hello! I'll definitely plan to be at any reunions we have.
